I watch a lot of videos where people get cars running that have been sat for 30+ years. It's only usually the mechanical parts that need replacing. I doubt that would happen with a modern car today

Why?

Modern cars are generally much more reliable, and last for many more miles than cars of that era. Also much less prone to rust.

Ours is fourteen years old with 15k on the clock, owned from new it’s a little gem and you can certainly feel the benefit of super unleaded better mpg too.

The laws of thermodynamics say otherwise.

I’ve just driven over to the Lawn Mower dealer in Ackworth to pick up a gallon of ‘speciality fuel’ for my father-in-law

What a damned price!!
£25 for 5 litres!!!

The best thing about Aspen is it doesn't go off. So you don't need to drain the tank over winter. Personally I just drain the tank on all my machines, although I do think using the "Super Unleaded" is worth the extra cost during the seasons of use.

One of the local garages has diesel at £1.41 per litre, down from £1.50 a couple of weeks ago. Has there been a recent drop in the wholesale price of fuels or have they finally reacted to the comments of the RAC (?) about the 5p/litre duty cut not being passed on.
