A load of base layers from decathlon, all going back though as not thick enough and more like a summer mid layer.

A colllapsible enclosure, ready for a 7 wk old kitten that's coming our way in a few days. Sooooo cute!

From a rescue, I sincerely hope?

Ideally though, 7 weeks is far too young to be away from mum - the recommended age is 13 weeks. Kittens are only just weaned at 7 weeks, and not fully socialized / educated in how to be a cat.

I suggest providing a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel and a teddy or other cuddly toy for the kitten to snuggle up to, as he / she will very definitely be missing mum and sibs.

'Fraid not. Our last three cats were rescue cats, but this one is a companion for my son with developmental issues. It's not been an easy search.

Slightly alarmed about your recommendations; it was 7 weeks we last saw it, and will be 9 weeks when we're supposed to collect it next Sat. That's a significant difference from 13 wks.

Nine weeks is do-able. To be fair, most times it turns out OK.

Things to watch out for is play with the claws out, or a kitten that bites to get its own way. Normally mum will nip that in the bud, so you'll have to play at being "mum" ;) Gentle play, lots of handling and the odd "no" goes a long way to help.

I've always had two cats, so it's easier introducing a kitten. But finding the right cat - yes, it's not easy. Hope it works out for you. :okay:
