I once paid £8 in a Gloucester restaurant for a 1970 Chateau Latour. This was in early 1982, but that's still a bit of a bargain. The restaurant had just changed hands and must have been sold with the wine cellar intact and the new owners had no idea what they were doing (it was served in a basket). I was a bit of a pauper at the time, otherwise I'd have taken all they had.

I've just found it here for €759 a bottle (plus VAT) I think it was around £45-50 per bottle from Oddbins back then.
