Proper cycling shorts are a good early investment, though after the pump, inner tube, saddle bag and water bottle suggestions.

Got my secteur yesterday, lbs gave me some raceblades, saddle bag, and a cateye computer.
have also put on a bottle cage and bought 2 spare tubes and tyre levers.
Just need a decent front light now(hope vision 1) probably, and a new rear light as mine fell off somewhere on way home this morning:blush:
+ some m520 pedals as the standard ones are pretty naff tbh.

what are spokey dokey's?

erm....... little plastic balls that went on your spokes and made a cool "clacking" sound when you went slowly.......

But seriously- I agree with all the above mentioned items- especially the inner tube- my first ride out resulted in at least 4 punctures an both tyres from a thorn ridden track!!!

Make 2 lists- essentails and wish list

My wish list has a GPS, a female friendly saddle, winter gloves, overshoes, windscreen wipers for my glasses and a helmet cam for those "interesting scenery" shots!!!!! (see my other thread )

Love it mate,it's my 1st ever drop bar bike so feels totally different to my hybrid.accelerating away from the lights is great, just need to get a bit fitter generally to really appreciate it.
Only thing I'm finding a problem is I'm used to my bar-end mirror, not as confident looking over my shoulder when i want to move out/turn right.
Which one did you get? I got the Sport.
