Did you know it's illegal to import haggis onto the USA as it contains sheep's lung? Maybe Donald has plans to change that considering his Scottish connection.

Is it a free-range haggis?

I was in Glasgow last week

The Hotel had Haggis on the breakfast menu

In Basic Training at Raleigh I had my parents send a haggis down to my mess which the cooks steamed for us. When they brought it out to our table the aroma attracted everyone in the hall, forks were shared and dozens of people tasted it. The consensus was to not think about it and just tuck in.

Now that's just so very wrong, haggis should never be served fried and never with square sliced and tattie scones

eh? I'm drooling here.

There's a few mistakes or untruths in this thread, boil the beast, end of. It is possible to steam it but a bit ponsy for a Highlander. Never ever even mention ketchup whilst handling our national dish, but soaking the chef in Balvenie is acceptable. If you are thinking about trying tripe, you are about 20 years too late as all that's now available is the bleached stuff that nobody wants. That could be another good thing about Brexit, real tripe back on the menu. Sliced, fried haggis makes an excellent breakfast, but don't think that muck you get at the premier inn is all it should be. Finally, never ever read the label, same advice goes for Stornaway black and white puddings.

Always boiled here. Had it fried once at a B&B in Fort William, tasty enough but I would rather have black pudding with my fried eggs.
