hi all
im looking to change my tyres on my road bike I have got continental ultra sport tyres on there at the moment and had 2 punctures in as many rides or is it just a bit of bad luck and carry on with these tyres?

Conti Gatorskins and Conti 4 Seaons are widely regarded as great puncture resistant tyres.
Also Specialized Armadillo and for a cheap option Schwalbe Lugano.

Do you check your tyres for debris and also your tyre pressures regularly? Only asking as IMO tyre pressures and regular maintenance are key to helping minimise flats, yes 'better' tyres do help, but even a 'better' tyre run at too low a pressure will flat more easily.

^^^^^ this, over 5,000 miles on a pair one failed patch and two pinch punctures, the last one put a dent in my rim, so you can imagine how hard I hit the stone. I suspect this also weakened a spoke that went a few weeks later.

Hi all,

I just purchased some Gatorskins, does it also make a difference which inner tube you use?

Thanks

^^Just what I was thinking.

Of the one I've tried: Mitchelin Krylion Carbons (Now Pro 4 Endurance) are my favourite as they dont compromise too much on performance. I found Gators similar but they cost more. 4 Seasons are great at first then suddenly go and p'ture every ride after that.

Spot on that man.

Krylions ride very nicely for a durable tyre. The 'gators I had (25c wire on, and admittedly a while back) were so bloody slippery in the wet that I've sworn off them since.
