I've got a Giro Savant for my road bike. Why? If fits and the colours match my bike

For commuting I use a Specialized Max. Not cool really but the Giro simply doesn't go with the commuter.

I spent £40 on an in the sale Bell - I tried quite a few helmet makes on and some just did not feel comfortable and some had straps that dug into my face and these were obvious no-no's.

Once I settled on Bell as seeming to fit me fine I then grilled the shop guy on the respective merits of the range which went from £30 to I think about£150 and basically there was not a lot of difference apart from the adjusting wheel being smoother and the helmets being lighter mainly by virtue of having more vents!

I guess if you were cycling long distance & fast in warm climes that more vents may well be useful to cool your bonce but, as ever, there appears to be a law of diminishing returns at work - those extra holes seem to cost a lot of money!

I ordered a Cannondale Teramo from Evans last night, £50 in the white. I am hoping it's the same shape as the Cypher, just half the price. I am not too fussed about weight or size of ventilation holes

I like giro. Don't even know it's there. My grandson had the same one when he was 10, and the same size as well.
I have worn Giro helmets for many years, they are so comfortable, no rough bits sticking into the scalp, and plenty of ventilation.

I think this thread clearly shows that helmet choice is individual and that you need to go to the shops, try some on, choose one, pay for it, take it, home, stick it on your bonce and ride your bike

Helmet choice is indeed individual. I have a thin head, and tried on loads of helmets and most made me look like Super Mario. Decided on a Spiuk in the end, only because it was the one that made me look least ridiculous.

I wear a Bell helmet. I picked it because it has little spikes on the plastic buckles that keep the straps positively in place after adjustment. Most helmets have friction-grip buckles that tend to slip, so that rules out 90% of the helmets on the market for me.
