How much does it cost to Oldham?
3043 for me. Lower than I'd like but
i also appreciate being able to pay my bills.

My year exactly , a lot of overtime but it meant we could pay all the bills without having to watch every penny for a change and book an extra week on holiday next year .Next year looks like its back to reality .

4,083 mainly hilly miles. My target was 4,015 (11 miles a day average) so I am happy with that.

Onwards and upwards ... I am 60 in January so I thought I would have a go at 6,000 miles (60 * 100). If I look like I am going to achieve that target with time to spare, I will raise it to 10,000 kms (6,215 miles).
Reality check for 2016!

After a very slow start due to illness, wet and windy/cold weather and general winter blues and laziness, it is clear that I won't get anywhere near to my original target. No point in having a goal that I know I won't achieve so I am lowering it to a more realistic 4,200 miles, or 350 miles a month. That would still be over 100 miles up on last year.

Bit of a slow start here as well. But just started putting in a few miles, Have a few big rides planned so hopefully soon be back on target, I raised the bar an extra 3000 miles this year, So it could be a real challenge.:okay:

Not to sure?
On the flip side, I'm of to a decent start to the year with 4188 miles to date. However, its looking likely that I need to have a short stay in hospital during the summer, so that will scupper my annual mileage.

That's good going!

I've realised that without commuting miles, it takes a lot of commitment in this very hilly area with an iffy micro-climate to get in much above 4,000 miles a year.

I also realised that I want to get back into doing more offroad riding this year so that means fewer road riding days. Offroad miles are MUCH harder so every such mile nibbles away at the possible total for the year. (If I did (say) 1,500 offroad miles round here, it would take the same effort as doing 4.000+ on the road.)

1,300 miles so far with 120,000ft of climbing so after a slow January I'm up and running

2015 was 4,660 miles with 375,000ft of climbing. If I can get up to those numbers I'll be happy. A lot will depend on how my work pans out

3071 recorded, since June, when I bought the bike. Being retired, finding the time is not difficult.
Don't know how you do it, have been retired for nearly a year, Seem to have less time now than when i was working.^_^

Before retiring a day at work meant eleven hours out of the house, no time at all for anything else bar eating, playing, drinking and sleeping. Not much of an improvement on Marie Antoinette's advice to the poor . . .

Sort of puts a three or four hour ride into perspective.

1,850 so far this year and I feel back to my best. Previous best years were 2011 and 2012 (around the 7,500 total for the year), 2014 was the worst at 3,500 for a few reasons.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Reality check for me too. Just been placed on the list for total hip replacement later in the year, with a steroid injection soon to keep me going in the meantime. Rides have been getting shorter, slower and more and more painful over the past 18 months, and managing even 30 miles has become a real achievement:sad:. Looking forward to getting repaired and back to normal :okay:

.......... managed 1208 up to July 8th before my hip was replaced, and probably a few weeks before I'm back on the road. Be interesting to see how far I get by the end of the year.

6,298kms or in 'old' money()3,913 so far for 2016.

12,000kms is the years goal so nearly back on track after the slow start to the year, been averaging over 600 miles a month since April with last months 847 miles the years highest.
