What was your mileage this year ?

I thought I'd lost track, but I just had a bit of a tot-up and I make it 6600, give or take a few because of much of it being estimated. Despite this being both fewer miles than I intended and fewer than last year, I'm pleasantly surprised by it, as I thought my cycling had tailed off pretty drastically in the second half of the year for one reason and another. LonJoG was the best bit, the Wet Whitstable FNRttC the worst (although I'm still glad I was there, having missed far too many FNRttCs this year), and probably the most magical moment was the midnight weather miracle on the Swansea FNRttC.

Given that you were going to blame me if the weather had been bad, does that mean I get the credit for the midnight weather miracle too?

Sorry to drift off-topic. Thank you each. I haven't had or been offered any physio - they just told me to take it easy. At the moment it's still hurting a little to walk the 3 miles a day my present commute entails. On the other hand I took the Brompton out for a wee spin to the shops on NYD, and it was OK. So what's doing more harm - 60 minutes walking, or less than 15 gentle minutes on a bike that the equivalent distance would take me? I really have no idea.

Ah. I thought they would - perhaps ask about whether physio is worthwhile? As Vernon says, I'd seek medical advice about the cycling. And hopefully we'll see you on the next FNRttC!

Worked out my totals last night, comes out at 4500 miles on the bike, then 1048 running and 197 swimming. 200 more running than 2011 and 100 more on the bike so not a bad year.

It's the think you do after you have had a good warm up on your bike. You swim a bit to warm up for the bike. Cycling soaking wet prevents over heating. A common problem in Northumberland in June where it was 11c this year.

See rule 42.... keep in mind that one should only swim in order to prevent drowning, and should only run if being chased. And even then, one should only run fast enough to prevent capture.

My odometer was on 18,689 on 1st Jan 2011 and is on 20,538 today so my mileage for 2011 is
1,849 miles.

Mileage on 1 Jan 13 was 22,226 and it's 23,222 today, so only 996 miles this year!
Still enough time for a quick ride to get it to over 1,000

Hopefully I'll get some more rides in before the end of the year but as of this morning it's 2554.6 miles.

Well short of my target of 3000 for the year due to circumstances beyond my control unfortunately.

Had roughly 10-12 weeks off this year due to illness, injury and Snow sitting on 5500 at the moment will probably add 150-200 by 1st Jan. did a tad over 7200 last year so a bit gutted. on the plus side this year is almost 1mph faster avg speed

12,300 miles by the end of the year.

So thats a rolling total of 124,500 documented miles since 1990. To be fair, it should be much more than that, but I must have thrown out my old diaries prior to this date in a house move....doh!
