Having completed my last commute of the year my final totals are...

B'Twin MTB: 153.09
Boardman Hybrid: 913.2
Giant Hybrid: 1053.51
Boardman Road Bike: 3479.54
Triban 3: 3715.76
Total: 9315.1 miles

This compares to 8050 miles in the car during the same period!

As below, 7546m - the target of 8000 was doomed the moment I hit black ice and fractured hip/femur on the 1st of December.
Still, I hope to take an experimental outing tomorrow.

This year was my worst ever total in 10 years of cycling. 382 miles at an average of 14mph, and two cycle tours to Mull and Iona of undetermined distances.

I am not really sure I can count myself as a cyclist anymore

That counts.

I've done just under a 1000 this year and a couple of hundred running miles. Does me. I don't really have the inclination to do more. Hats off to the bigger mileage riders.

Never got to find out who won in the race to the bottom.

Yes indeedy this year's rides comprise:

18 x 100km Audaxes
2 x 100mile Audaxes
2 x FNRTTC
A summer tour along the Danube from Passau to Budapest
Some short local loops

Total mileage 2,686
Average ride length 47 miles

I've surprised myself.

3,000 miles will do nicely for next year.

Failed in my own challenge of others...

just a miserable 1226 (comapred to last years 3275)

Oh well theres always next year!

9419. Started a bit slow with the conditions last winter but soon started racking up the miles, with the highlight of the year being "LonJog". After the olympics were over the mileage dropped to just commuting and shopping. Hope to have a better 2013.

Happy new year everyone:highfive:

As long as I breathe, I attack.
sig amount for me. quite chuffed with that, especially considering the fact its my first full year on the bike and the weather. will have to set a tentative 5k target for 2013 with imminent fatherhood looming. Ive been checking out commute route extensions this morning as I recon thatll be the easiest way of bumping my early year mileage.
Its not the lack of sleep or time to get on the bike thats the problem its the other half giving you the evil eye when you suggest you want to go for a ride when shes been up all night with a screaming sprog your darling bundle of joy
Most of my mileage this year has been commuting what with mini ck#2 arriving who will be one on friday .

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
4440 - so 560 short of target. I blame the weather this end of the year, and a bit of a slow down at the end of Sptember when I needed a couple more cardiac stents plumbed in, so I suppose it's not too bad after all.

Started with a target of 6200 miles for the year, torn calf muscle in early March which didn't heal properly until early May crucified that target so I revised it down to 5000. Finished the year 70 miles short, I could have made it but as with previous years I was just too tired. I decided to take a couple of weeks off over the festive period grab some sleep, ignore the scales and eat and drink as well as get in some quality family time.

The New Year starts in a couple of hours; Bliadhna Mhath Úr to you all and for me 2013 will be the year of the Snow Roads.
