Born from an egg on a mountain top. 😂

If my memory serves me right it was BBC2, six o'clock on a Friday night, fantastic.

Can't speak for the timing, but it was the source of many a banned playground playfight. Everyone was kung fu fighting...

We've caught up on alot of TV over the festive season.
The Jackal, Redmayne was superb, series got better with each episode.
The latest iteration of All Creatures (watched all the recent series), Samuel West as Siegfried is brilliant.
W&G Christmas special was the best yet.
Just watched 2 episodes of the latest Strike series, building up very nicely.
Almost forgot Professor T & the Chelsea Detective both very enjoyable.

Recently started Grand Designs from the beginning as it's perfect "we'd like to watch something interesting but don't have the capacity to properly concentrate" TV.

Last night we got to one of my favourites, Dean in Dudley near single handedly converting a church which he's wanted to do his whole life. There is so, so much which could go wrong, and the final design has some absolutely brain melting decisions as well as many beautiful ones, yet you're absolutely rooting for him (and his family) the whole way through. His relentless enthusiasm is infectious, and you can tell that Kevin respects what he's managed to pull off.

A notably hilarious highlight is the glorious vista of Dudley from the plastic dome atop the bell tower.

Probably the most famous build because of what a disaster it became lol.

Anyone else watching S2? I enjoyed Ep1 more than the first series. The tone is still a bit all over the place, but seemed to work better than S1.

New maverick anti-hero Paddy gets some great dialogue. Makes up for his almost OVER-authentic Belfast accent :P

I realised in the closing credits that they used a lot less pop music: perhaps they are going for slightly grittier, less pantomime.

We are now watching S2 having enjoyed the first part. The first series was far from perfect with rather too much whooping and hollering and treating it too much as a bit of a lark. Cast and writing is good for all that. 2nd series is a good bit darker with the true horror of war rather more apparent, and perhaps better for that. I particularly Like the relationship between Paddy Mayne and his straight laced superior, which eschews the usual cliches.

Foundation season 1 & 2. It looks stunning and is great at times, sometimes it seems to be made up as they go along.

Going to watch all season 2 of Silo when it's finished, thats better sci-fi than Foundation just imvho.

SAS SRS Rogue Heroes, S2Ep2 update:

After Ep2 I feel I am becoming easily pleased in my old age. That was bloody excellent. I could just watch a Paddy Mayne highlights reel on loop; the line about advice in the guidebook justified my Licence Fee alone

Having looked at the TV guild the other day, I'm surprised that you lot find anything to watch that's not a repeat

You're looking at the wrong channels ;-)

For terrestrial I mostly watch:-
  • Taskmaster
  • Have I got (more) news for you
  • The Last Leg
  • Some of the better BBC dramas / comedy dramas e.g. We Hunt Together, Ludwig
  • The Cleaner
  • Young Offenders
  • The Outlaws
  • What we do in the Shadows
  • Mandy
  • 8 out of 10 cats does countdown
Sometime I watch stuff that's finished but I didn't see at the time - e.g. Derry Girls

On streaming it tends to be supernatural or superhero based - e.g. The Boys, Good Omens, The Umbrella Academy, Wednesday, all the MCU stuff. I used to watch all the Starwars stuff but it's really gone off the boil for me recently.

We Own This City

A David Simon crime drama based in Baltimore, Maryland. Whats not going to be good about this lol! Theres a good scattering of ex The Wire actors throughout this for you to spot, and its based on a true story of police gone bad and it handles those issues around american policing and corruption in a mature none over dramatic way. Highly recommended.
