SAS Rogue Hero's - iPlayer.

Okay watch, decent soundtrack but slightly odd pantomime-looking sets at times.

Will probably watch the whole series (currently on E3).

Anyone else watching S2? I enjoyed Ep1 more than the first series. The tone is still a bit all over the place, but seemed to work better than S1.

New maverick anti-hero Paddy gets some great dialogue. Makes up for his almost OVER-authentic Belfast accent :P

I realised in the closing credits that they used a lot less pop music: perhaps they are going for slightly grittier, less pantomime.

I don't recognise any of the celebrities so this is basically the same as the normal series for me. Always quite liked the format, though the fugitives seem to trip up in the same ways which can be a bit repetitive.

Have't tried this particular series, but typically the celebs just want to intersperse a bit of running with spending time in a mate's posh house / boat / pub / spa / restaurant, along with some baiting of the hunters via "socials".

I'd be more interested if they actually tried to stay off the radar, hence I prefer the non-celeb version.

It was broadcast last week, in conjunction with the (repeated) documentary made with Ade Edmondson

I think the most successful attempt I've seen at staying off radar was a fella a few years back who basically lived under a hedge for the whole time until he cracked and called his daughter (IIRC) which knackered him.

Good lady and I have been watching "A Gentleman in Moscow" on Paramount+. Very different to the blood and action stuff we normally watch on it.

Loved the book and the TV series is very good. Ewan MacGregor plays an excellent part.

The problem is that if they did get someone who successfully went off radar without cracking, it would make for rubbish TV. "Mike is on week 4 now of living off the tins he stored in the highland bothy. He has enough resources to do this indefinitely provided that he also hunts wild game. The detection team have no idea where Mike is."

Nah, I'd watch that. It'd be hilarious watching the detectives lose their minds. Turn it into a kind of Slow TV thing.

Ted Lasso. Nearly finished season 2. I had no idea it was going to be about Football but I persevered. It's quite funny, but I won't say I'll be sad when we have finished it. I'd describe it as a bit like "The Office" but in a footbal club instead, and not as cleverly written

Yes, there's a balance to be struck, but i believe there's a specific rule that prevents you laying low.

Found a few interesting titbits by googling. Contenstants aren't allowed to move between 8pm and 8am, but they must change location every 48 hours. In the latest series they have removed the backpack "go bag" and £250 bank card, so they now *have* to contact people to help them. Magid Magid also revealed that they get constant instructions from executive producers via their cameraman which are often more of a headache than actually trying to complete the task. So the reason that contestants seem to make stupid decisions about phoning home is because an exec producer somewhere has decided that the hunting team need a clue to generate some interesting TV.

“Without going into details. There was only so much lying, intimidation & threats 2 tell the Hunters where I was I could take from the exec producers. All because I challenged them when they wanted me 2 do some ridiculous things (produced) which weren’t part of the original rules.”

Magid then wrote: “It’s quite funny how the only people that gave me a headache and stressed me out were not the Hunters. It was in fact the exec producers.”

Rules from the Aussie version:-

1. Teams must move every 48 hours.
2. Teams cannot return to the same place twice. (Emiley: “You can’t go back to the same place twice.”)
3. Teams cannot be helped by the same person twice. (David: “You couldn’t use the same resources [people] repeatedly.” Emiley: “You can’t use the same person twice.”)
4. Teams have to use the ATM twice during the competition.
5. Teams cannot take out more than $100 from an ATM at one time, and cannot visit an ATM more than once in a day.
6. No one can give the teams money. (David: “You couldn’t get certain resources. We couldn’t just get tons of cash.”
7. Producers “can create a rule or take away a rule at any point in time,” Emiley said.

It's the last one that appears to really annoy contestants. Essentially the Producers can make up new rules if they decide you are being boring.
