Correct! Or at least it is now, as it's been a bit wayward at times (he says vaguely recalling the story he read).

I really like the show, and I wonder if criticism of it stems from it not being a total gore fest like most zombie stuff. It's way deeper and thought provoking than I think it's given credit for.
This arc is a bit gruelling, compared to previous ones (Terminus wasn't a bag of laughs, but was resolved quickly - this 'un will take time) - I don't think I'm sticking with it because I know where it's going, although that might be part of it.

I wonder if part of what people dislike about it is that there's no utopia - people mostly wreck the good things they have (so far) and attempts to rebuild society (or build a society at all) are generally shown to be futile and thankless.

Here for rides.
Just watched the final episode of Westworld (for this series anyway, hopefully)
Excellent ending - as one would expect - got to be one of the best TV series ever made...

Still have the final episode to watch, it is good, it is clever, I love the multiple timelines (at least I think that is what is going on), I love that they used The Cure's music, but each episode has too many pointless boob shots and is ten minutes too long.

The Award for Bleakest Outlook goes to The 100 I reckon.

I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
Still kind of like TWD though - its been a slow burner for years now and I'm getting a little board of the Negan character - someone would have bumped him off by now surely (ok, i appreciate the whole thing is unrealistic, but how is he still alive?)
I still like it but some of the things its done has annoyed me, also the big bad Negan doent scare me, he's just irritating.

and yes, how a certain character failed to kill him last week is stupid on screen, it works in a comic somehow.

What this week's episode showed, I think, is that Negan isn't just physically vicious - he gets in people's heads. Where I think the TV series has gone slightly wrong is that the character in the comic is physically imposing too, something that the actor playing him in the series is struggling with, imo. I hope they get into his complexities later in the series - comic Negan is a great character, with more to him than you see at first.

Well I have read the comics and yes he does get in peoples heads and they have portayed how he breaks people. My problem last week is he hadnt broken Carl yet. Carl broke into Negans base, killed two of his men and Negan walks right in front of him, and he doesnt shoot him for ...reasons.

I think the actor is fine, he portrayed him well in the first episode and he was scary. My take on why I dont find him threatening anymore is they are showing too much of him, he should be a Jaws or Alien like presence, you rarely see him but when you do he scares the hell out of you. He is suffering from overexposure in my opinion, the more I see of him, the more the long monologues bore me and I find it harder to understand why noone has killed him yet.

Watched the second half of, part 3 of, 'Our Guy in China' late last night, after getting home from work
Impressive desert ride

Modus. The latest BBC4 Scandi drama. These Scandi series are a bit formulaic. Moody music over the credits showing snowy Scandic scenes. Pshyco loner bumping people off. Female sleuth.

Love 'em 9/10 so far.

Last night we watched Slum Britain: 50 Years On.

Poverty porn title, and a lot of the show is exploitative trash (to be expected from Channel 5), but there are genuinely heartbreaking moments where you realise just how badly many people are let down by a welfare state that is being hacked to bits.
