I pvr most commercial channel programs i.e. The Bay. Will probably play them all back one after the other skipping recaps as well as adverts.
Looking at U&Drama scheduling Silent Witness was an extra 11-15 minutes long depending on the extent of an ad break at the end. Theres been 258 episodes, that would be over 47 hours spent watching adverts on U.

Always meant to watch that but it goes back 20 years or something. Is there a good season to start at as a beginner, or would I need to watch from S1E1?

A couple of years go, Jo and I started on S1E1 and worked our way through every episode of Silent Witness over the course of a couple of months. It's interesting how it's morphed from very much a pathology-based show ("well-nourished male, petechial haemorrhaging") in the early Amanda Burton episodes into a more general crime-scene-investigation programme. It's mostly nonsense, and there's nearly always a massive overstepping of responsibility or conflict of interests, but it's entertaining nonsense. We found ourselves shouting at the telly, telling them to check for abrasion marks on the corpses' heels, or hyoid fractures!

I can't recommend a particular place to start (except at the very beginning!), but there are some excellent episodes that stick in the memory:
S5E1/2, S8E7/8, S13E7/8, S14E7/8, S23E19/10.

what is this recording of which you speak papa? Is it another thing from the olden days before streaming via iplayer?

(sorry - couldn't resist!)
Nah, it's from the new days, so that Snoopy can't tell what you watch when, profile you and target yet more intrusive advertising at you.

Are you still streaming and letting them know your peccadilloes for free? How quaint! Oh well, it could be worse, you could be using a subscription service and actually paying to help advertisers target you.

Good God you must have enough experience to actually BE a forensic investigator ! I'd be putting THAT on the CV !
