Time for Call the Midwife.

Have you read the books that the series was originally based on?

If you have then you'll recognise most episodes from the first two series, but after that it starts to turn into fiction.

It's like the Miranda Hart character, she does go to Africa but actually stays there and is never seen again, I started to get a bit bored after the third series when they began making things up. 😂

after all the fuss about Gavin and Stacey (best thing ever apparently ) , we gave it 20 minutes tonight - what utter and total drivel

Watched the 1983 “Christmas Special” of All Creatures last night. Quite watchable but not a single mention of Christmas. Funny how the meaning of “Christmas Special” must have changed over the years.

I definitely prefer the current Channel 5 All Creatures, much more fun.

And speaking of fun, finished watching Only Child last night, an absolute gem. Hopefully they will be making a further series.

This week I have been mostly escaping the miserable rigors of reality through the conduit of gritty '80s Glasgee crime mini-series Taggart

Anything's going to struggle if it involves James Cordon - I suspect he'd manage to irrecoverably sully even the greatest televisual achievements with his presence if given the opportunity... like a damp turd left inside the finest silk purse.
