Finished watching Star Trek: Picard last night, more for the sake of completeness than anything else. It did get better after the first few episodes, but it didn't live up to expectations and the ending felt rushed and a wee bit schmaltzy.

I know Patrick Stewart is regarded as one of the finest living thespians, but there were times it felt like he was chewing the scenery. At times there was so much hamming up that he really should have retired to a charcuterie rather than a vineyard...;)

I tend to like anything that Patrick Stewart acts in (heck!!, he 'made' A Christmas Carol for me!!)
Sadly I've not seen Picard

More to the point, tell me more about Jeri Ryan , in Picard..................^_^

This evening it's going to be last weeks 'Trucking Hell' & 'The Dukes Of Hazzard' (forget which are todays episodes on 'Forces TV')

The genuine Daisy, not that pretender in the 2005 film
(although the girl in the prequel film, was a reasonable facsimile)

Mmm, many a teenage boy enjoyed listening to Daisie's Southern drawl on a Saturday.. How come it was considered to be just 'normal teenage boy' behaviour back then but now, that same boy would be labelled as some kind of pervert for viewing a women as if she were a piece of meat? 🤔

I'm sure the teenage girls must have viewed the good old Duke boys (or maybe Roscoe) in the same 'harmless' way though.

Ironically, in the current times of Isolation, I have got into a programme on the Discovery channel called 'Building off the Grid' which shows some stunning scenery. A lot of the builds are in the USA so there is a lot of high 5'ing and over enthusiastic whooping to contend with I'm afraid.

I guess they did?
Hence why, in a lot of episodes, Bo & Luke were shirtless, repairing fences/roofs
There's an early episode (which has been on already) where they were 'skinny-dipping'

Likewise, all the kerfuffle , over the Confederate flag on 'the General', I can't remember a single episode or scene that has any kind of racist overtones
The cast themselves have stated the same, & would not have gone for a script like that

...
I'm the opposite... I felt the first two episodes showed a lot of promise and after that it just got dull... gave up after episode 5

Hope it's better than the 2nd series which, whilst not bad, wasn't a patch on series one.

I've dug up yet another ancient relic of children's television; Wreckers at Dead Eye (1970)... overacting a plenty!

Also looking forward to Killing Eve S3, slightly disappointed though that they're only releasing one episode a week as I could have binge watched the lot on Monday otherwise.

I'm also enjoying the BBC showing the Indiana Jones films at prime time this Easter, even if they are nearly 40 years old. Just think about that...

You could wait 8 weeks, until its all been aired. Then binge it all in one go........ Yeah, i couldn't either.
Its bad enough waiting a week between each episode of Better Call Saul.
