Narcos - Whilst chilling on holiday in Lanzarote I read two books, one about Pablo Escobar and the other about the Liverpool class A,drug growth, the formation of a cartel. The book about the Liverpool drug scene was a way better book. But the other book made me think about watching this series, which is top notch. Its better than anything else I've been watching for years, although Wentworth is also very, very good.

As did 'Night Of The Demon'

Absolutely awesome film that. Way better than the vast amount of turd that is made now, despite it's dated effects. Films weren't about effects then...

Really enjoyed the season finale of Gotham, which has recovered well from a slightly below par S3 to give us an excellent S4 - bring on S5.

Bodyguard continues to excel with twists and turns aplenty and it keeps ratcheting up the tension. TV show of the year, so far.

Tried Press and while it's got potential the first episode was a bit ploddy and predictable, despite the best efforts of Charlotte Riley. I would say that we'll give it another week or two, but the excellent if under-rated No Offence returns to Channel 4 in the same timeslot on Thursday so Press will get relegated to catch up, if we have time.

Meanwhile, over on Amazon Prime, Jack Ryan is good and potentially getting better while on NowTV 9-1-1 is a decent enough emergency services filler until Chicago Fire returns and For the People also has potential. I'm also enjoying revisiting Brotherhood, although it's not Mrs ND's cup of tea.

Disappointment of the week was a very pedestrian and slightly depressing Ross Kemp: Armed Police on the third channel. He's done some excellent stuff in the past, but this isn't anywhere near that standard. He's got a BAFTA you know.

Strangers, this has got potential
Yes, I enjoyed it. Looking good. John Simm is usually a good watch.
