I had a truly infuriating experience today, so bear with me while I vent.
I found a nice deal on a full carbon Cannondale a couple of days ago and phoned up the guy selling it. We arranged to meet at his work today. Everything seemed fine - he was friendly on the phone when I asked him questions about the bike and was offering to be quite flexible about payment as I was concerned about carrying a lot of cash with me.
So I set off for his work today which was some way out of town and meant taking a couple of buses, the second of which took nearly an hour. When I was 10 minutes away I texted him and the bastard replied as follows:
"Had to leave work. Bike sold. Sorry"
No warning, no explanation. I'd been in touch with him earlier in the afternoon and he'd given no indication that I might not be first in line. He didn't even have the decency to ring me and tell me not to come.
What makes someone think this is an acceptable way to behave?
