I've just had a look in my courier bag.

CO2 inflator, two carts, pump, two tubes, three levers, multitool, one cabletie, O-rings for Dinotte light, spare battery pack for Dinotte, spare front light (cheap Cateye LED), cycling cap, spare socks, anti-commando pants, bottle opener, electrical tape.

(The jersey pocket kit is CO2 inflator, one spare cart, two tubes, levers, multitool. Sometimes I get nervous and attach a pump to the frame with electrical tape- there's spare tape wrapped around the seatpost)

Pump, tube, leavers...probably a repair kit in there but that's out of laziness to remove it. I put my lights in my back bag and have spare batteries. Might even be a chocy bar if i'm lucky

Usual stuff.
Yeh, surgical gloves are a Godsend.
Paper tissues, ballpoint pen, flexy adaptor for pump, small plastic bags.
CTC membeship card, Audax UK membership card & Local Club membership card in a zip-sleeve.

My Dad used to get worried when I went off on a 300km ride on my own, so now at home, I have an old mobile phone kept continually on charge with about £5 of credit on it. In my pack is a piece of paper with that phone's number on it. If that phone rings, it means I'm REALLY in trouble.
