Indeed, particularly when it involves detailed referencing to works that are often print only.

I'm going to call into the library 10 minutes walk from me tomorrow and ask the librarians if they're paid, or volunteers. 🤔

A childhood friend of mine is a librarian. She did a 3 year degree followed by a 2 year masters course in Library Science.

I fix bikes for a second income. I did a 3 year degree in engineering. Do I need it fix bikes....no.

I think the OPs best bet is to go on a council's website and look at the requisites for any Librarian jobs.

I think you'll find libraries open rather earlier than 1pm, imagine being a library volunteer (most are) and getting up early.

Judghing by the description from this current position for a part time library assistant in Colne a town noit far away the qualifications are less important than the personal qualities. It took one search for library assistant to find this.
