@Gunk what a fantastic project and restoration you have done. I have really enjoyed reading this thread.
It must be hugely satisfying comparing the 'before' and 'after' šŸ‘.

I fitted the replacement mudguard blade this morning, just waiting for one more part to arrive and then itā€™s all done.

Final job this afternoon, the replacement crank arm arrived, this is the slightly later version which has a small tab in the inside face to stop the folding pedal damaging the frame, I paid too much for it but they are very difficult to source as they only made them for a couple of years before Brompton swapped over to a spider crankset.

The new one is on the right

Here is the pedal in its new stop position, before it folding right over and touched the frame. Fortunately the previous owned had non-folding plastic pedals fitted, so the frame had not been damaged, I bought a red 2001 M3L last year and that had a deep semi-circular scratch right through the decal.

All finished, fitted the cables this afternoon and the chain, realised the front wheel was in back to front so I refitted that, plus checked it all over and torqued everything up. Unfortunately the weather is so horrible here I didnā€™t get a chance to road test it.

The only remaining job is to fit the new rear mudguard blade but Iā€™ll do that absolutely last thing, as I donā€™t want to scratch it.

Iā€™ll ride it for a few weeks to iron out any bugs and then itā€™ll be up for sale.

Total costs (including the bike) was Ā£520, plus Iā€™ve estimated I used another Ā£65 worth of stuff I already had in boxes in the garage. So an expensive restoration but Iā€™m very pleased with how itā€™s come out.

If I lived in the UK I'd gladly take this beauty off of your hands. And with the crap my government is doing to the rest of the entire world, I'm sure us Americans that aren't in line with it's policies will still be banned from traveling across the pond soon enough. My wife an I had plans to visit London again this year... I'm so sad right now.
