It's one of those evenings when the wind is whistling around the house making all sorts of noises, and yet when I look at the local wind speeds the maximum gust speed in the last hour is only 27 mph? What makes it a good wind for whistling? Any expects out there?

But the hedges etc haven't changed since the last windy day - though it appears to be a southerly wind which isn't the most common direction I guess.

New fireplace is making the wind whistle down the chimney .... I think we will need a cowl (is that what they are called) up top

When the wind blows from the right [wrong!] direction the vertical tiling on our gable bgeins to buzz... it's a wierd noise but funny for the first hour.

We're and end-terrace and we get lots of whistling - we get an especially loud whistle/scream combo from our bedroom double-glazing that has taken years to get used to. It doesn't happen every time it's windy outside though, only sometimes. Must need a special kind of wind ... ;):laugh:

If it has a trickle ventilator at the top, try closing it/ taping it over.

Just guessing....
