Went to get bike out this morning in plenty of time for a ride, thankfully. Rear tyre flat - strange as I had put a new tyre on it a couple of days ago. Took inner tube out and it appeared to be caught between the tyre and the rim hook at one point. I assumed this was the problem, put in a new inner tube.
Went to check the old inner tube, weirdly can't find any leaks, even under water and it's still inflated a few hours later 🤔

Dropped the stem under all 30mm of spacers on the road bike before heading out, felt weird being so low but I'm sure I will adapt.

Tweaked the Selle SMP tilt as found I had more like 17mm drop between the peaks instead of 14mm.

Son no. 2's BeOne Raw has had a work-over having done 23,500 miles: a new RH Dura-Ace 9000 crank (it's got a LH Dura-Ace power meter so they now match), replacement Absolute Black large chainring, replacement Dura-Ace 9000 brake calipers with new Swiss stop carbon pads, Dura-Ace 9000 pedals, replacement cassette and a KMC DLC 11 speed black/blue chain. The result is a full matching group set and hopefully OK for the summer.

The old Ultegra RH crank, chainring, Ultegra pedals and Ultegra brakes were looking a bit worse for wear.

Tried replacing the chain on the RTD, only to discover that when it mauled the front derailleur it caused a gouging of the paint on the seat tube, quite sad as it was otherwise immaculate.

Also when repositioning said derailleur I needed to loosen the cable, it was a touch stiff so removed it and put the pinch bolt back in after greasing it only for it to strip out. Ordered a new derailleur. Yesterdays ride turned into an expensive shoot show

Noticed son's rear wheel had a lot of play in the bearings so we had a go at sorting it out.

Minimal play, no friction, but definite rumble afterwards, despite many efforts to get it right - a trip to LBS needed methinks.

Got my summer Spa audax bike out. Swapped the chain and cassette and checked all worked well. Unfortunately forgot about the chain rings and the small one skipped under load but not on the stand. It grumbled its way up all the climbs today. Something for the weekend.

did some liberal spraying of wd 40 onto the FD and into the shifter body on the commuter and it seems to have freed whatever was stuck
