I have a small bag on the back of my Devon bike but there isn't room for much other than tools and spares. I just bought a cheap frame bag on Amazon to hold my phone, keys, food etc.

About 10 minutes ago I spotted a pair of Dura-Ace 9000 shifters, together with a set of replacement hoods, for sale on eBay at a reasonable price. They're no longer for sale :okay:

Ordered a Swan neck tablet holder for the turbo set up. I'll stick the Lenovo Yoga laptop in it. Lacking space currently to use the old PC/turbo set up I had. It's still there but behind a load of camping gear.

Same happened to me yesterday, snapped SRAM chain after the side plate failed. Nearly took the front derailleur with it.

Replaced with KMC as that's the fourth SRAM chain I've had fail in this way.

A pair of SwissStop brake pads and a Shimano jockey wheel set, since I've used some.

Two more TPU inner tubes, on account that the ones I ordered already don't look like they will be here until next week despite being dispatched on Tuesday.

I thought about borrowing the TPU inner tubes from one of the other bikes, for this Saturday's club run, or just running the supplied ones but I'm tight on time as it is and I already have enough bike maintenance to do without going back to bikes I've already fettled.

I'm probably sounding a bit obsessive. I accept that.

I guess I'm just eager to get a good feel for how the SL7 Tarmac compares relative to the FX Sport 6 and the CGR Ti - both of which run GP5000s on semi-gooder-ish wheels with TPU tubes - and find out what difference this bike makes :bicycle:

A couple of weeks ago I bought from Tailfin an adjustable rear light mount (seat post mimic) it fits well but my Garmin varia keeps rotating, probably because the lone ‘o’ ring isn’t strong enough. So I have ordered a fixed light mount.

if anyone has successfully used the seat post mimic with a varia, I’d be pleased to hear from them about how they made it work.

I sold the Vitus 797 yesterday to a buyer in London, leaving me two to sell as I need the space ...

Then today I picked up an almost-unused 2008? Giant FCR Compact with a 27 speed Shimano Tiagra groupset. It was covered in dust having been possibly been used once after purchase then stored. Lots of dust removal and a bit later it's a lot cleaner. There is rust grime on the chain and some dripped tar on the shifter and front wheel, but otherwise it's pristine. The cables are more than slightly stretched, the IRC Redstorm Classic ( ) 25mm tyres cracked and for some reason there's no rear brake pads with just a few minor frame scratches. Looks like this and rides surprisingly well, weighing just under 10kg:

It needs:

- New skewers as they're a bit rusty. The metallic green ones from my Viner Mitus will do nicely. Now done.
- Rear brake pads. I've a pair of unused Aztec ones that can go on. Also now done.
- New tyres.
- New cables.
- New chain.
- Replacement grips. Done.
