(Without wanting to move into NACA type discussions)Can we not eat what we want without being judged?
Where somebody's choice can impact others (eg climate change) I think it reasonable to discuss the impacts from people making such choices.

We cannotCan we not eat what we want without being judged?
We cannot
I am half German, half Italian, live in Scotland, love Cypriot food among many cuisines.
If I'm abroad or here too, I often get judged by what I eat or how I eat it!
Of course, I judge right back at them
Indeed.
Where can I get a dolphin burger?
Indeed.
Where can I get a dolphin burger?
Japan , probably.
I thought it was B12 that was the crucial missing thing but only for vegans. Otherwise a varied diet, etc.
I probably should know given I am vegetarian (but include dary and eggs, so maybe not so crucial?)

Where can I get a dolphin burger?
In New Zeeland. Delicious. Didn't know it was dolphin when I ordered it.
You not an egg fan Vickster? I love eggs, a wonder food.
Is it partly that most places have some veggie / vegan dishes anyway?
I'll often order veggie stuff - not for idealogical reasons, but because it's delish. Give me some onion bhajis, aloo paneer and a peshwari naan and I'm a very happy bunny.
This?
It's (needless to say) not actually dolphins...
No, something with a long Maori name.
I once read that not all fish are as healthy due to the way the fats are stored in the body. IIRC salmon and oily fiish store fats in dark flesh but the white fish types store it in all flesh which is less healthy. Also, the white fish types IIRC tend to be more likely to havee toxins at a higher levels than oily fish. I think it is linked to the fat storage differences. There is also a matter of feeding habits. Bottom dwellers are more likely to have toxins or heavy metal from pollution IIRC but the open water, hunting fish like tuna, mackeral, herring, etc tend to have lower levels of polluion in their flesh.
Also, in salmon it is allso said that wild salmon is also better for eating than farmed due to farming being less than great for the meat. I think that applies to all farmed fish too.
I think it is less clear cut that fish is healthier or better than land based meat. It is too simplistic to think that IMHO. you really need to see marine conservation ratings on sustainability of individual fish species. That is even before you consider the actual healthiness of the meat in the fish type. Plus farmed fish is not always good neither. Similar husbandry issues as land bassed meat sources I reckon.
I still wonder what the vews on plant based foods too. AIUI there is more and more research on plants that indicate there is more to them than previously thought. Woodland that communicates, plants that have a kind of system that indicates pain is possible I think I once read. I think it is not quite like with animals so is better in that respect but could it one day be accepted as not as much better as thought? Of course meat eaters might like the idea that veggie iss murder could be the claim of meat eaters one day to counteer meat is murder comments from the more radical vegans such as i have actually met.
One last point. I do not mind what anyone eats or believes about their foods. I do not feel it is right for anyone to say what otherss should do or think in this respect. I just do not agreee with the more radical POV on all sides. As is often the case, the truth is most likely nearer the middle ground than the extremes.
