I did think about going, I saw Maxx's posts on facebook, it did look like a cracking gig.

The first time I came across The Della Grants they were supporting Dr Feelgood. They blew the place away, then Steve came on stage and helped them clear their kit up - thats when I understood they were special.
Like I said Steve is a lovely bloke.

Pantomime at the Barbican in York. Very slick and lots of fun. Son in the pit band. Proud trumpetmum!

Can't find a video (yet) for last night's Shepherd's Bush Empire show, but here she is the previous night in Paris:

Amazing woman, and a fantastic atmosphere - just a sprinkling of Brits amongst what seemed (and sounded) like half of London's Italian population.

Ive had a good week for gigs.Last thursday i saw the brilliant Franz Ferdinand at the Hippodrome in Kingston, really enjoyed that one.Slightly spoiled by me wanting to the bar to get a beer and losing my great view of the concert. On the Saturday i saw Nick Hodgson (formally of The Kaiser Chiefs) do an in in-store gig for Banquet Records, that was a nice gig played infront of about 20 people. Finally last night i saw The Wombats, again at Hippodrome. That was probably the most lively gig ive ever been to,i was happy to stand at the back away from all the moshing.Oh,and this monday im going to see Brian Fallon at the usual venue.

The Paul Middleton Angst Band. A set of brilliant musicians, totally enjoying themselves, and us enjoying them. So to speak.

Kraftwerk 3D in Tallinn (couldn’t get a UK ticket last year, unlike @StuAff ).

Stunning and faultless show in an arena that wasn’t too large to enjoy the experience. They’ve been on my bucket list for over 40 years.
Just don’t expect any audience interaction (I didn’t).
Did Ralf not say Gute Nacht?

Saw them in Bilbao 18 months ago, definitely worth the trip.

A couple of years ago, I had been 'booked' to be Dads Taxi, to take (& collect afterwards) daughter & friends to Leeds Arena to see someone - I forget who

The very same day, an old friend of 30 years, told me via FaceBook that a certain band was touring, & that self-same night, they were playing at a Club less than a mile from my house
I've not seen the band for over 20 years, but knew they were still going
(I did know of the Club, but didn't know it did live music, especially of that genre)

So, I did what I had to do

"What time shall I pick you up?"

The band?

Sadly, I believe the venue has changed hands now/ceased booking bands
Bugger!

Tonight i have been to The Lowry in Salford to see Opera North's production of Madame Butterfly. My son has been doing a student placement with them and was playing second trumpet.
Very proud (but it did go on a bit!)

The Christy Herron Trio, with the lad from the Paul Middleton band playing vibraphone. Or ZyloSynth, said the instrument. Great gig!!

The splendid Front 242 in Brussels last week, and now I'm at Brixton Academy for Mastodon, any time now. Excellent support slots from Russian Circles & Red Fang.

Some of my favourites there, though I did give up on Mastodon a few years ago after being massively disappointed by The Hunter. Once More 'Round the Sun wasn't much better and I've not even bothered with Emperor of Sand.
