I didn't realise pineapple evoked such revulsion in people, I love the stuff, would eat a can of it in one sitting, no problem.
I began to realise when we were talking about Hawiian burgers, which instantly was rejected by a colleague...pineapple, pineapple ?, ughhhh.

Although it's probably Mrs beeton who kind of fixed it as we know it. 1860 I think.

Haven't got it handy, but Mrs. Beeton was pretty disparaging about what even then she was calling traditional and lacking imagination. Parrot pie for breakfast!

I'd give it a go. I'd certainly prefer it to a soggy squashed lukewarm tomato which seems to be a traditional accomaniment.
