Loopers..................entertaining but don't think about it to much your head will explode

Good choice ! And if you like that sort of thing, I can recommend Primer. An extremely low budget film (something like $50k !) where a bunch of geeks doing a home project accidentally discover time travel. I'd say it was a masterpiece.
No "action" just a clever, thoughtful, sometimes baffling and brilliantly crafted film. Basically it shows what it might be like if a bunch of geeks did really discover time travel in their shed and where feeling their way round using it.

Primer is fantastic, but it demands your attention, and possibly an immediate rewatch!

Men & Chicken. The stuff of nightmares. What kind of sick mind makes a sick film like this?* It's the 12th century transported to contemporary Denmark in an everyday tale of interspecies breeding. And modern sensibilities lose out to the squalor, the stench, the violence and the vomit, the bestiality, the taxidermy, and the primal urges. Its filthy, filthy, filthy and great fun. 8/10.

Ignore the cheesy music, it's not in the film.

* Anders Thomas Jensen, that's who. I'm not afraid of naming the celluloidally sick. Off to see Love and Friendship tonight for light relief.

There were a couple of actors including Mads Mikkelsen that i recognised from various Nordic Noir series shown her in the UK. They were very good in those however i shall look upon them differently now

Munich, the Steven Spielberg film.

Christ it was depressing.

I mean, imaginatively depressing, but still...

I did very much enjoy Eric Bana's performance though. He's a great actor, I find it hard to believe it's the same man who played 'chopper' Read.

The Natural. A baseball-based film of quite jaw-dropping awfulness that I watched on account of its literally unbelievable 7.5 on the generally pretty reliable IMDB.

As the triva listing says: "The film cast includes three Oscar winners: Robert Redford, Robert Duvall and Kim Basinger; and three Oscar nominees: Glenn Close, Barbara Hershey and Richard Farnsworth." Why? Why did these people agree to attach themselves to a script of such barrel-scraping banality, leaving no cliche unturned on a journey from really who gives a crap to god I can't believe they bothered.

To paraphrase a review I once read, 'The worst movie this year, and possibly since 1926.'

Nul points.

If you want to watch Duvall's ultimate sport based disaster, check out A Shot at Glory.

Calvary (Prime Instant Video)
A priest and good man, is worn down by the spite and nastiness of his parishioners, knowing that he will be killed at the end of the week. A really interesting, at times blackly comic meditation on whether anyone can make a difference in the world, and on the nature of forgiveness. I made the mistake of watching it with Mrs M, who declared it variously "nasty", "daft", "not funny" and "rubbish."

Kung Fu Hustle (Netflix)
Jolly wire-fu nonsense about a fantastist who longs to join the toughest gang around, and a succession of kung fu masters who defeat, and are defeated by the gang and their hirelings. I'm not sure that it's my sort of thing (and assume that there are considerable cultural differences preventing me from appreciating it more) but not bad. My personal choice for set in the not too distant past Kung Fu would be Project A, and this film has done nothing to change that opinion.
