On a similar theme 'Senna'. Odd how engaging a film made up entirely of short clips can be. Someone must have sat through a serious amount of footage to put it together.

Yesterdays trip out was to 'Seventh Son' at daughters request. I won't bother watching it a second time.

Senna is brilliant.

I wouldn't cross the road to watch Formula One (from any era) but found Senna compelling and very moving.

Anyway, I watched "Killing them Softly", which was good, but pretty bleak. Amoral characters, and no one gets ahead of the game, ever. Not chicken soup for the soul by any means, but some very good performances.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Transformers. Age of extinction. Brilliant CGI. Much better with Mark Wahlberg than the other effort shia le bleh. 8/10

Fury...... Lots of bangs Lots of gore Lots of swearing BRILL:laugh:

I watched this last night and enjoyed it.Some very gory scenes and a nice plot.I especially liked the scene where they have eggs for dinner in the german house, everything all seems normal, then the rest of the comrades enter and ruins the whole ambience of the peace with the young girl singing to the young man at the piano.A lovely scene i thought.

At the watershed in Bristol perchance?
We'll be there this evening

Nah, Tyneside Cinema. Looks a similar sort of set up though.

Really pleased to have seen it on the big screen. Some dust got in my eye when Batty made his final speech. Gets me every time though.

Amazingly one of our group had never seen it before. His main impression was that it was very dark and rainy. At first I was a bit annoyed about his comments, but it really is a film you need to see a few times to fully appreciate.

The corollary to this, of course, being Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, a staggeringly crass, disjointed load of nonsense with massively unlikeable characters and action scenes that could well have been coathangers whirling around a tumble dryer for all I could tell (or care) that still made $830m at the box office.
To me it seemed like an unfunny remake of Team America... and yes, utter tosh.
