Up till now I,ve only taken a mobile phone on rides to summon help if needed, but since I broke the 50 mile barrier I suppose it's time to take a tube and pump at least.
So what do you take, and how do you carry it?

Two tubes and some park tyre levers in the saddle bag, a mini pump attached to the seat tube, a couple of bottles of water on the bike (our club captain is always on at us to drink more while riding). Phone, money, door key and fruity-oaty bars/bananas in my jersey pockets. And if I'm out on my own, a multitool with some allen keys, screwdriver heads that sort of thing on, usually in my saddle bag.

I think that pretty much covers it.

Although I borrowed a small cable tie from a guy on Sunday as I lost a nut from my guards so I might start carrying some of those to, dead useful it was!

Depends on the length of the ride and how far away I'm going.

If I'm on my usual training route, I take my phone, I'm never far enough away for it to cause a problem.

On longer/club rides I take repair kit, tyre levers, pump etc.

And various energy substances along with a few bottles.

IMO, the #1 thing I take on every ride, whether to the shops, off road or whatever, is written details of who I am and next of kin.

The stuff above all helps too, the only kit I'd add is lights and torches.

Windproof water resistant lightweight jacket, emergency lights, plastic gloves, chain tool plus other things already mentioned. Some of these things are ride type or weather dependent. If I am likely to stop I also take a lightweight lock.

A couple of tubes plus a puncture repair outfit and tyre levers in case the fairy gets too active. An adjustable spanner and a dumbell spanner, pair of pliars and a screwdriver with reversable blade, phillips and straight edge. On a long ride I will often take a change of top as I sweat a lot. Today I took a lightweight waterproof coat in my panniers as the weather wasn't too sharp but thankfully I didn't need it. Then the usual money and mobile, and my wallet with my bus pass in case of a major disaster!!

Wallet, money, specs, puncture repair kit including pump, tube, combination allen key set, lock, water and banana. In winter I take a flask of tea, piece and waterproof clothing. Also, I often carry a camera and binoculars, all carried in one of the two rear panniers that are always on the bike.

1 tube, pump, levers, multi-tool, cash, debit card, driving licence, mobile, 4 or 5 friends, a couple of gels, two bottles of water and Nuun tablets, flapjack.

Most of that fits in a small saddle pack, the food goes in the back of my jersey.

I think the above posts have pretty much covered it.

In these winter conditions, I've also started carrying spare batteries for lights. Front lights especially seem to burn through the AA batteries pretty quickly.
