The dessicated husk of anyone with the temerity to question the supremacy of steel.

With a nice cup of tea obviously: husks tend to catch in the back of the throat otherwise.

Hot Chocolate, a piece of Cherry Cake and a couple of shortbread biscuits. Im not long back from a ride, now what can I find next ;)

Edit: I found Jelly beans, and a choc digestive, another piece of shortbread and a mini Christmas Cake, so of course I had to have a cup of Tea to go with that ;)

After a decent ride I get a SIS Regro drink inside me as soon as I get home as that helps quash the hunger for a bit. I then tend to eat something of substance like a sandwich or a bit of cake and try to steer clear of the chocolate until I can get a proper meal inside me which is normally within a couple of hours post ride.

I'm behaving well at the moment but Sunday is a long ride day and it's also the one day I choose at the moment to engage in some alcohol consumption...

Baked beans on toast in the morning before my ride. A sandwich, recovery drink and whatever's at hand on my return - sometimes a raw egg or two but had some cheese and parma ham stuff left over from xmas which did the trick last weekend. Take a bath. Cook a roast dinner or pasta with roasted vegetables and steak would be normal practice (and on a Sunday have four pints of bitter).

During the week I'll go out on a Wednesday morning and have pasta when I get back with roasted vegetables and in the evenings if I go out I always have tea first, usually fish and pasta, fish pie, sometimes a curry and make do with some fruit and recovery drink on my return.

Glad to say I don't eat much crap and when I get frisky for an alcoholic beverage during the week, sometimes after a ride (it's a reward thing) I juice a fresh lime and add a pint of sparkling water and a small measure of Acai berry.

Anything that isn't moving quick enough. For example yesterday: large doner kebab, 2 packets of Haribo, packet of skittles, large packet of salt and vinegar chipsticks, bread and cheese, ham sandwich. Plus a couple of beers and some wine.

Usual Sunday morning routine starts with Porridge with dried fruit and chopped nuts and a couple of glasses of orange juice for breakfast, I'll have beans on toast and a coffee at the cafe stop and when I get back I'll have some cold chicken pieces or a sandwich with a cold meat filling and either a glass of weak orange squash or a cup of black tea. usual Sunday morning ride is between 50 and 70 miles. I can't eat a big meal soon after getting back after a long hard ride, our Sunday dinner is usually around 5:30 - 6pm.

Everything :hungry:

If it's an hour or less usually nothing special. Over an hour or complete pain fest I eat more depending on how much sustained effort I put in for how long. Big sessions usually high GI carbs such as dried fruit like raisins or dates. If it's a biggy I'll have some fruit juice with whey and a bit of milk too followed by the dried fruit and then maybe more low GI carbs added to my meal which follows training, depending on the time of day. This may be a sweet potato or a bit of whole grain pasta. You don't have to go overboard. You're recovering, not getting enough energy to power a small town.
