The washing up liquid and sugar works great as does washing powder (but I hate having my hands smell of Persil).

I am a big fan of the W5 Hand Cleaner you find in Lidl from time to time. It's the best I've used. It's not a liquid, it's more like gritty soap flakes but it works brilliantly.

Coffee grounds and washing up liquid or swarfega. I like the fact that I am reusing grounds otherwise destined for the bin.

I usually wear disposable gloves but am thinking about keeping some rubber gloves just for the bike and then washing them.

I have always used washing up liquid for the odd times when I wasn't wearing gloves.
I am going to start using sugar or coffee grounds now - what a great idea.

Washing up liquid and an old spontex / green pot scourer
Pan scourers are good. If you get phenol/formaldehyde adhesive on your mitts, mechanical abrasion is the only way that you will get it off. You'll take off a fair bit of skin too, but it's a price worth paying.

Argh, polygrains, another name for microbeads I believe, not environmentally friendly, adding to the plastics in our seas:sad:.

Quote The proposed ban will include other industrial hand-cleaning products.
That was pointed out by @Adrian,( late of this parish) a while back. As you can see from the photo, I have a very large pot of the stuff, so I won't be needing to get any more before I go to the workshop in the sky.:okay:
