It was tea when i was a kid, and became dinner when i started getting above my station :-)

"Dinner". "Lunch" is at lunch time!

"Supper" is a supplimmentary nosh late in the evening, normally after returning from t' pub.

Breakfast, dinner and tea. Haven't had supper - unless that's what you call sharing a pork hock and pig's pudding 'piece' with my Nan at 9pm 20 years ago.

(TBH I probably call it dinner most of the time, I just want to call it supper...)

I had a rather strange master at school who would often tell us that 'only dogs eat dinner'...

he was old-skool though...
