Just to focus things a little, are you mostly thinking about comfort, lightness, range of gears or something else? (117 miles is a long way for me - I'd be looking for a new set of leg muscles but I'll assume you're confident about the physical demands.)hi

I've never ridden a Cannondale but they seem to have an excellent reputation for comfort and ride quality. I simply don't know from experience. And I don't know how arduous these 117 miles are going to be. Sometimes it's all about the hike and not about the bike.117 miles for a newbie on a CAAD could be hard work?
i am a MAMIL who ride's a specialized but i've never seen anyone else riding the same model bike (2007 Allez Elite) whereas my ridgeback tourer I've seen a couple of them knocking aboutWhy? Unless you want to ride the same bike as every other MAMIL out there
