Indeed, his Maiden work is dismissed by many for no other reason than he was not Bruce. I saw Blaze with Maiden during the Virtual IX tour, and it was a fantastic show.

His early solo work, like the song I posted, give us a glimpse of what it might have been if he'd been given more scope with Maiden.

Yep, agree with that. Saw that tour also.
Funny thing is, I was never a fan of Wolfsbane. Just didn't do it for me. His Maiden and solo stuff however, does.

The new Depeche Mode album. Absolutely brilliant! But I do fear that this is the last one they'll record.

Zip to 16.29 (My Favourite Stranger) and 41.46 (Never Let me Go), DM at their best.

And, of course, it sounds immense on vinyl. :music:

Blaze is class. X Factor is a brilliant album, less keen on Virtual XI.

He did a solo gig in Newcastle a couple years back in Trillians, which is a tiny metal bar. It was amazing. He's a top notch fella too.

Civility and calm?
Not right here, right now. On account of the new Metallica album.

That's actually alright for Metallica.

It's.... OK. I listened to it yesterday through twice.
Hasn't quite kicked in yet so will have to give a few more listens.

I gave up on them with the black album, tried now and then, but never really got back the feel of the 80s albums. Is this one worth the effort?

I'm not a fan of the black album at all. AJFA I listen too on a regular basis, KEA, RTL and MOP on an even more regular basis. Anything after that I struggle with.
I'm going to stick with 72 to see if anything clicks, but to be honest it needs to click quick as there's a whole lot more music out there that needs listening too.

Your first paragraph describes my feelings towards Metallica's output perfectly. I may give the new one a chance, but it will have to click quickly.
