I went there years ago to see a guy called Catfish Keith, it was very good but I was a little unsure about parking! I didn't know the Charlotte had closed completely, I only went once to see a band called Caravan, again, a good gig. Just checked out the gig listing at the Musician, wish i'd have done it last week, I could have seen Spocks Beard! How where China Crisis?
China Crisis are always good, we've seen them several times recently including at The Cavern. Good entertainers with great banter, they are about to release their first album in 20 years (crowd funded, I might have contributed).

I have a soft spot for their Diary of a Hollow horse album, as well as their better know songs too.
Some dodgy jazz funk on the Barclaycard customer services line. Sounds like Level 42, but worse.
I think L42 get a bad press, their Pre-Running in the Family era music is pretty good. In 1980 they were doing funk better than many of the better know American funk bands. But the music didn't sell very well, then they changed style, sounded bland and sold millions. But seriously, in the early 80's the played some impressive stuff for a bunch of 20 year olds. One of my guilty pleasures.
