It wasn't the same, it's 28 years since I stood three feet in front of Lee at The Charlotte while he spat the lyrics at me.
Tonight was a very tight, incredibly accomplished band rocking out first class rhythm and blues at full volumn, whilst 200 forty to seventy year olds sweated, bounced and generally acted disgracefully in front of them.
My ears are ringing and I'm bruised from being elbowed and trodden on. That was a proper gig.

Jerry Lee Lewis 3 albums he cut for Elektra from 1979 - 80, just been reissued on CD, here's a corker from the first one 'Rockin my Life Away', it's not the album version but a live one one and I do believe that's Clint Black doing the intros, pre facelift.
