A song written to his dead father.

When I first met my wife - well some time after anyway - I told her that there are 2 songs that make me cry

Sweet Child of Mine - because I used to sing it with my daughter before I lost contact

and

Puff the Magic Dragon - because I see it from the POV of the dragon that finally finds a friend after aeons of loneliness - then the friend goes off and leave him alone again for eternity
see - I'm tearing up now

apparently I'm weird

Well Puff the magic dragon sentimentality is a little weird though does display altruism and i'm sure the deeper causes would keep a shrink in employment but loosing contact with your own daughter would be leave you raw.

Daughter #3's feller has a 'stang.

Digressing somewhat, have you heard the version from Post Modern Jukebox, with Miche Braden singing?
It's like a 'low-down, dirty, New Orleans' jazz

Funny dat ^. Just posted this a moment ago:

Interesting fact for football fans.

Most people know that The Proclaimers are massive Hibs fans and that their fantastic song Sunshine On Leith is sung at games. But something a lot of you do not realise is that many years ago , brothers Craig and Charlie both worked as groundsmen for the club.

They got the sack after players complained that the grass was too long and it ruined their passing game.

The brothers blamed this on DIY store B and Q

They went to Bathgate no mower, Linwood no mower, Irvine no mower, Lochaber no mower, Sutherland no mower, Lewis no mower, Skye no mower...
