Rule of thumb for happy cycle maintenance number 1 - if something doesn't need to have moving parts, then make sure the one you get hasn't got them.

Strikes me that this is another gadget that adds little and can go wrong. So no, don't want one, not interested.

Do I mind having a wet saddle? Not really, I can wipe it off on my sleeve easily enough.

Nah, i keep my bike indoors and even if it was wet, it wont make any difference as it'll be raining, which means i get drenched anyway.

Spent a couple of hours on a wet seat this morning. On a 'bent, the seat is not only a bigger target (and sometimes carries standing water) but also tends to be made of water hogging foam.
I'd cover the seat if I left it outdoors, and suspect HPV will be introducing / have introduced an extremely well made but hugely overpriced wrap.

FFS, how many design students are there?
Open message to all of you.
Come round to my house and do the vacuuming, then I'll do your homework (if I can be arsed).

I would like to know how many of you also hate having wet bike seats. Whats your favourite solution for dealing with it?

I am doing a project designing a retractable bike seat cover, that covers your seat in the day then when you return the cover retracts back into a device under the seat leaving you to ride away dry.

What do you think of this idea?

Where do you put the plastic bag after you used it? In your back pack or pocket? Would it not be easier to have one that retracts away ?

I have one of these already - its called a plastic bag and when I'm finished with it, its tucked up under the saddle ready for the next time.

The shower cap (available in all good hotel rooms free, or at Superdrug at about 10p) has already been invented.

besaten me to it - that is the perfect thing, no need to reinvent it..... I only regret not taking more of them.

Er, has this thread been heavily moderated? I'm a bit lost now...

But to answer the OP:

I woulda rather keep the whole bike dry. But if it had to get wet, a wipe with a glove usually does the trick.
