A lovely stress free day, got up late, had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast, took the dogs out for a walk on a beautiful bright sunny day, chilled out, played monopoly ( The Fragrant MrsP won) had lunch, went for a bike ride, took the dogs out again, had cheese and biscuits for tea, had a glass of Laughing Gravy, watched Toy Story 4, ate a box of After Eight. Bed. A lovely day.

Had a sad end to a great day round at our daughters. About tea time their west highland terrier took ill and they ended up taking him to a vet where it was decided to do the kindest thing. Poor Alfie. We looked after our 2 heartbroken grandaughters until they got back. No one was in the mood to play Pie Face after that. We did have a laugh reminiscing with them about the escapades he used to get up to. 13years of good memories. RIP Alfie. I know how to ruin an atmosphere don't I?
That’s bloody awful, what a sad thing to have happened.

10 for dinner, first visitors at around 9am, a couple quality hours with 3 grandkids and their mum n dad before they went off to dinner elsewhere. 11 ish saw my daughter, SIL and elder gs arrive, 11.30 son DIL and 2 grandkids arrive, picked up my 89 yo mum shortly after. Lots of noise and presents, dinner around 1pm. Highlight was I'd unwittingly put the Turkey in upside down...a disaster in the making but...the breast meat was the most succulent we've ever had, ever.
Everyone away by around 3.30...peace descended, slobbed out. Brilliant day.

We are in a holiday house in Tunbridge Wells. Late start due to a boozy and very silly Christmas eve.
Cheese, leek and chestnut tart cooked by Joe. Beef Wellington cooked by Al. Jam roly poly cooked by Nat. I hauled my lazy ass off the sofa periodically to load the dishwasher. The boys appear to have taken up drinking wine since last Christmas so may need to buy some more.
Just dropped Joe off for 3 panto shows in Sevenoaks and going to drive down to Rye for a boxing day walk on the beach. Would be better if it wasn't raining but you can't have everything.

"A glass of laughing Gravy". Yep, the phrase of the year! Thank you for that Boxing Day tonic.

Quiet one, first time in years that we haven't had to cram into MIL's house as it was her 'last Christmas' - she's still here  We popped to the Nursing home to see her at around 11am to give her pressents. SIL and family turned up but there was at least 3 of us hovering near her room door as we are all full of 'the lurgy'. Back home and food on.

Played about an hour of 'Pictionary' on the old Xbox360 - quite fun, then dinner and a few games of Roulette on the lounge floor - not so easy with 3 of the 5 cats rather interested in the ball whizzing round.

Another quiet day today, with left overs going into giant yorkshire puddings with lots of gravy.

Not been near the bike in over two weeks - my chest feels like an elephant is sat on it.

Mr M got to see a GP this morning.
Well checked over and given steroids, which should hopefully make him feel better soon
Seems a virus has made his mild asthma play up and having a cold hasn’t helped.
He was told to report back if the pills don’t start to work soon, also if breathing gets any worse to call an ambulance
He’s not going to the football this afternoon, feet up and plenty to watch on TV.
I’ll save my bike ride until tomorrow, don’t want to leave him on his own.
Many thanks for the advice and good wishes, what a fab bunch you all are!
