I have some sealskinz also and found them rubbish. Vastly overrated IME.
If they are like their socks, they are excellent for the first few years untill the elastic goes and then they are like buckets (water goes in but doesn't come out).

I have tried everything on my bike and motorbike and the best result by far was a set of military camouflage overmitts from e Bay for £6. You can wear whatever gloves you want underneath. They keep the wind off and keep your handstotally dry and warm.

The ones I bought are the camouflage version for about £6 and I cannot vouch for the others. They are not always available.

Buy them because this is the answer to this problem.

Aldi spesh's for when it's cold and dry + merino liner for getting warmed up and Seal Skinz "All Weather" when it's wet - they get a bit clammy if it's not. The key for me is taking both for changeable conditions. Not a problem with panniers. Not the end of the world having another pair of gloves in the back pocket either.
