I like G-Shock watches, but on the two I've had the plastic / resin strap has failed not long after the warranty expired, and a new strap is nearly as much as a new watch. I am tempted to try one with a steel bracelet though.

I have a couple of "nice" watches, an Alpina and a TAG Heuer, but rarely have an opportunity to wear them especially now I'm working from home for the foreseeable.

I heard good things about Tudor and they seem to get positive reviews, but then I noticed David Beckham all over their promotional material, so that was the end of that.

So, the watch I invariably wear is a ten quid cheapy from Amazon that I bought for rides on the bike. Digital with a large display and excellent backlight, plus it keeps time as well as any of the others.

A nice watch complements a suit or smart dress well.

The rest of the time a cheapie will do.

The concept of wearing a watch? Or the concept of measuring time?
Both are pretty useful I'd argue! Unless you're retired, and spend all day dribbling and pottering, and wondering where your glasses are.
When, like you, I need to make incredibly important business phone calls from ten metres below the surface of the ocean, I might consider getting a highly prestigious statement watch. Until then....no thanks.

You'll be reassured that since I got my Tudor i have not morphed into a squeaky voiced twit with a single digit vocabulary who trips over referees for a laugh and gets banned from driving for mobile phone offences.

I'm not sure how many watches I've now got. The Garmin Fenix 6 is definitely the favourite though. I've also got a Huawei GT, a Fitbit Versa 2, a Fossil Hybrid and about 6 "normal" analogue watches for when I need something smart.

I've got a 50 quid Casio. You didn't read my earlier post did you? Or did you misquote and you're replying to someone else?

While I was waiting for my strap to be mended last week.I noticed a rather nice Sekonda watch with a blue face. When I was a lad Sekonda watches were the Ladas of the day.You did not want to be seen wearing one.
