Have you considered the possibility that those 'wimps' were also told they could not have pets?

Maybe they needed the special accommodation more than you so had to make that sacrifice.

Maybe they are upset that they abided by the rules then see a new resident ignoring them?

That'd be highly unlikely as i asked "Mr Grumpy" if he'd ever had a dog, when he first confronted me. "No i haven't,i don't like them" was his reply.

Just remembered. I did ask the warden if she could turn a blind eye.promising i'd be very discreet. She said if it was up to her she would do,but it wasn't so...

So she said no. And you're surprised when she didn't?

I kinda think you've brought this on yourself mate. Time to take responsibility for your own actions and behaviour. If I were you I'd accept my cunning plan hasnt worked and rather than blame others for your misfortune, spend your time considering your options. Is the flat or the dog more important? You clearly can't have both.

Dogs are not the only fruit
Meaning that he likes other pets, just not dogs? If so,i can't see it. He strikes me as not being a very caring type of person. Maybe he kept a caterpillar in a jam jar when he was a child?,but nothing beyond that i'd say.

Edit...and if he did,he probably conveniently forgot to put air holes in the lid

Yes i know that's what it comes down to. As i posted earlier today, i've been having second thoughts about giving this place up. I'll see what the housing association come up with next week. If they offer me only crap accommodation then i'll have to seriously reconsider my determination to keep my dog, with me,though signing him over to the RSPCA home,as Mrs Accy suggested, is not open for debate!

Another thing to consider in your ponderings perhaps, is your own happiness. You clearly dislike at least some of your neighbours. Assuming the dog issue is resolved, realistically how likely is it that you're going to have issues with your neighbours? Will you be happy living near these people? Perhaps for your own long term happiness, never mind the dog, it might be worth moving on. If you decide to stay, you need to accept them for who they are and the place for what it is, they won't change for you.

You set a precedent, though, and all the other dogs that come along could be large and hungry, eyeing your little dog and drooling. Good luck with that one. Why should you be the only one allowed to keep a dog?

Good point Tiny. You didn't reply to my "Have you ever been to Blackpool"? question,by the way.:okay:
