Those Vittorias are closely related to the Veloflex Open Corsas that my son, my cycling buddy and I are all using and none of us has any complaints. I'm using them with latex inners and they ride even nicer. They grip superbly, ride smoothly and the bike feels really "planted". They don't puncture any more than any other tyre and the wear is acceptable. A pair of these beauties is £52 from Ribble.

Rear tyre wear depends on how you tackle hills - round here we have some extremely steep but short little swines and the only way to get up is to attack them, meaning that you end up straining to put every ounce of power down and somtimes getting small spins from the rear wheel, especially if out of the saddle. This does a lot of damage to the tread.
Yep, true the Open Pave do feel very planted and grippy ....

Yesterday it absolutely p155ed down and so a good opportunity to test the Conti 4 Seasons on the flint-scogg roads of Oxfordshire.
They roll pretty well, maybe slightly less well than than the OP's but damn well enough, they are a bit bouncier and definately more comfortable than the OP (I've not played with the tyre pressures yet). As they are new and shiny I didn't check the grip! However after nearly 40 miles of sh1tt covered roads they were like new, not a cut or scratch.
I think I'm going to love them :-)
