I like thread resurrections, mostly for the chance to see names from the past that are no longer here.
Anyway, I did finally get a valve amp, as posted elsewhere on the forum some time ago.

My Missus would go into melt down if I with back along the Hi Fi route . Had some retro amps over the years ,including a quad valve amp many moons ago .It needed alot work to refurb it & cash was very tight at the time so it got move on .

Our Bose system ticks all the boxes for me now . It can rattle windows when cranked up .

Nice!
Have TD160 with SME arm in a box awaiting some TLC when we've moved....
150 is the classic though....

Also have a 30+ year old Audiolab 8000A that needs to go back for some service work. I recently replaced it with a Rega Brio.

Speaker-wise my 30 year old Rogers Studio 1a have had too many years of abuse (by the kids). One driver is gone, the internal soundproofing has decayed. So again when we've moved I hope to get a Vistaton Topas basic kit from Wilmslow Audio and sharpen my carpentry skills!
