Ive been on holiday and whilst most of the time I stuck to familiar roads I did venture of the track once in the Trossachs
and got another 12 tiles.

Should have been an unlucky 13 though; it looks like my 130+'s GPS receiver isn't as sensitive as my old 1030's

Did you click through to the ride? Resolution is reduced on the overall activities.

Besides, I tend to view it as kosher if you fix GPS incronguities manually if you're certain. Like on Sunday I knew I had a corner, so I checked my location on my phone. Sure enough, the actual ride didn't quite bag it:

I know I walked up to the line of bushes!

Just did that (clicked through to the ride) its not perfect in the forest but its a little more finite. If I were to edit it how would I do so?

You could use GPS Prune ( have to download programme) or GPX Magic (can be used online). Both are programmes I used to smooth GPX files for Wahoo RGT. There may be other ways as well

If you go to your activities on Veloviewer and double click on that ride it will open it and refresh the gps data which should then give you the square.

Don’t do it on old rides as you may lose squares.

Max cluster becomes a nightmare once you move out of the central belt .Aberfoyle and Callander its hillwalking gear for filling in the gaps going north and west. Now i perfer just going for new tiles wherever i can catch them.

Getting a cluster through the Southern Uplands is difficult, but doesn't look impossible. Wind farm access roads to the rescue. Increasing its girth, on the other hand... 😬

Think this may be typical for a Velowiewer tile-grabbing ride? One factor was that I didn't want to be out too long as the dog was at home.
  • inadvertent few miles on a dual carriageway (trying to get the quickest way to the tiles)
  • bit of bush whacking when I took an access road to the left of the dual carriageway. Not too many nettle stings
  • A mile up a muddy, gravelly track to be told, "This is a private driveway" by a grumpy farmer
  • "Sorry, I am lost. Think I took a wrong turning," looking at my phone to try see if I made it into the tile, and hoping it looked like I was trying to navigate (I got the tile)
No change in the square but more ground work done round the age. Cluster is growing...
Not sure exactly how many tiles I got, because Veloviewer doesn't remember my filter (to exclude virtual rides)

What do you have on the phone to do that?

Building a cluster along the M 74 corridor ? It has quite a few dark holes. Might be a few years before any new windfarms and service roads are put in.

It looked pretty straightforward to Moffat.

Moffat to Abington starts going off road, but it looks like all access tracks.

Then Abington to Glasgow? There are some tricky areas, but if you head to the south of the M74 corridor it should work according to my maps.

Getting up the Great Glen will be a wee bit more challenging... Maybe possible with the assistance of a kayak.

A targeted raid on my bottom right corner around the town of Kettering saw me grab 15 tiles ,total now 5780 max cluster up 12 to 3118 and max square went up 1 to 49*49 . Just one slightly difficult square had plotted a route down an industrial estate but couldn't quite make it in due to massive security gates across the road , don't think even @Supersuperleeds would have climbed these ones . Anyone thanks to the app mentioned above I found another way and paided a visit to the DVLA test center to put people off doing there driving tests "watch out for the dodgy cyclist phone in hand muttering something about a square "

Which square was it? I don’t remember any awkward ones around Kettering?

The one below Leisure village , You got it from the North but I came in from the south and didn't want to mix with weekday traffic in the town centre
Just found out if you click on cycle chat club and click on anyone not private on Strava ( name in orange ) you can see there profile and map to see how they got the square
