So you vapers out the in CC land, especially the ones using "mods" can you tell what is the obsession with generating plumes and plumes of exhaled vapour? It must be a factor of 20-30 compared to a draw on a fag?
Same as @roadrash , I use a pretty standard Evod which produces less vapour than a cigarette would produce smoke, and I tend to be low key. I think it's an attention thing in part.. a lot of those big cloud producers are the kind of big fat bearded tattooed baseball cap wearing w@nkers who will seek attention given any chance.
They tend to vape the cheap sickly sweet stuff too, so those clouds stink and give the rest of us a bad rep by association. As you can see by the last few posts. Actually most decent e-juice doesn't have a noticeable smell at all.

Especially among younger and more "hip" users, there is a whole scene around vaping, it's not necessarily a method of giving up, I know some youngsters who never smoked but have now taken up vaping because in their eyes it's fashionable.

There are "flavour chasers" and "cloud chasers" (apparently). It's the cloud chasers who set up their kit to produce large amounts of vapour. You do get a really good lung hit off it, but as others have said it's not discreet and to some the 2nd hand vapour is as unpleasant as smoke. The flavour chasers (again, apparently) are not so fussed about volume of vapour, but about developing the most pleasant flavour and overall vaping experience.

My priorities are getting nicotene into my system with the least cost and fuss possible. I rarely vape in public, don't do it in front of my wife or kids, I don't vape in pubs either as it's not allowed in some. If it gave me a good enough hit, I wouldn't even care if there was no vapour at all.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Well done Joe and good luck. I didn't go down that route, i gave up altogether. Stick with it, and think of the money you will save. Let us know how you get on with it. I for one would like to know of your progress. :okay:

Vaping is not technically smoking as technically there is no smoke involved but only steam/vapor. The liquid that goes into your electronic cigarette is commonly composed of several typical ingredients: PG Propylene Glycol, VG Vegetable Glycerin, DW Distilled Water, NIC Nicotine, and flavoring.

[Google is your friend too]
Yes, I already knew that. [without Googling it]
But vaping 'steam' isn't just steam ie. water vapour. It's a mixture of steam and other various chemicals, some of which may have unforeseen consequences.

Its steam and harmless.
That is a pretty ill informed statement. Propylene Glycol is a humectant it is in in most vape fluids it means it retains moisture, it is also a known allergen it is derived from Oil. It is used in multitude of things but in Europe fairly restricted in Human Consumption products. Its main use is to mix things and keep them together so we the lazy consumer do not have ot shake a bottle of shampoo to remix it again. https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ingredient/705315/PROPYLENE_GLYCOL/#.Wc4oabpFzaQ

It will damage a Feline animal, either just irritate it or plain kill it depending on the level of consumption or breathing in of the vapour. Add to that a lot of the "flavours" will be chemically derived so the PG is binding the flavour to the vape steam as you call it. It is not steam. Take a look at a industrial vapours smoke trail it does not dissipate at the same rate as smoke let alone steam. It is a far heavier byproduct

It's a bit more complicated than that...
I’m sure more people are addicted to nicotine lately because of these damned things. They seem to be everywhere.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if real cigarette sales are up.

Since 2010, a fifth of smokers have given up.

There are some more interesting facts in that paper - including that smokers are smoking less and less, more people are turning to e-cigs, but generally as an aid to quitting, and the rise in e-cigs is lower than the fall of smokers.

Also if mixed with certain medicine it had the capability to put a human vaper in to hospital, as certain medications either slow or stop the body processing the Propylene Glyco out of the body. I know one medication that had to have the user instructions re-written to include do not vape whilst taking it. Although that medication Booze is also a contraindication There are anecdotal reports of Vaper being admitted to A&E with seizures who were talking the medication predating the re-write!

Can I take Metronidazole with Propylene glycol? There is a severe interaction between Metronidazole and Propylene glycol and should not be taken together.

To be honest it is how I became aware I had an allergy to Propylene Glycol, as I had an allergic reaction by the amount of PG in my surroundings (and on me) So I do have "skin in the Game" :-)

I never thought I would need to ask a question on this thread, but here I am!

All I wanted was to buy some 316 grade Stainless steel wire from the bay of evil in order to make small through wire fishing lures. I did wonder at time why I had age verification approval emails in my Junk folder. Now the wire has arrived, I can see why!

The stuff is SS 316L and there is a sticker on it that states, "This product contains nicotine..."

I am guessing I need to drop this stuff in the bin and look more carefully at the description! Curious to know what it is I have though.

It's just wire, don't worry.
What's happened is that this wire became popular with people who built their own heating elements, so it's often sold as a vaping accessory. We have somehow become massively paranoid and overprotective about anything vape related so that now, all paraphernalia related or associated with vaping has to have a warning on it that it contains nicotine. Even if it patently doesn't.

If I buy a spare battery that has an e-cig application, or an empty glass tank, that will also carry this warning. It's stupid. It's like buying a pint pot and it carrying the warning that it contains alcohol.
