I agree!! I Commute 5.5 miles in too work and between 5.5 to 65 miles back depending on mood and there isn't a ride go by where some one doesn't try too send me too my maker! Regardless of distance. That said, I nearly took my self out a couple of times fast wet bends, flooded fords etc :P but that's another story :-DSeriously that my new commute is less than 4 miles a day and is no less incident packed than my previous 20 miler.
What is considered a long journey & extreme cycling? Used to do 200 miles a weekend, same trip twice a day each way what ever the weather. Also working outside once at work.Hi All,
All I can say is that we're not up to stitch anyone up, just interested in long journeys to work by bike. That's it.
Nathan
If it was bare foot with SPD MTB pedals then it was pretty extreme :Pi commute 100 miles a day along indian cliff tops in a just an old t shirt and ripped trousers bare foot carrying my school clothes on the back of my bike fighting gusts coming up over the mountains, not sure if it is extreme though?
or was it a 15 mile round trip down british mainly country roads and a small section of a road?
Cheers Ed
no pedals i just stick my toes in the pedal holes! If it was bare foot with SPD MTB pedals then it was pretty extreme :P
Thanks for all these guys, we've had a few come through to the inbox which have been great stories. On a slightly different angle we're also doing an item about dangerous roads for cyclists, possibly going to feature Elephant and Castle Roundabout in London, but what do you guys think?
