i always check my tyres when i stop for a break or when i get home, but my area is littered with all sorts on the roads, and the roads are a state so punctures are a common occurrence i never have any luck with the glue on repair patches but ive had great results from red devil stick on patches

Repairing a tube on the road is a last resort for me. I carry two spare tubes and two gas canisters. If I puncture, I just put a new tube in (having found the cause of course) and gas it. I also carry a small pump and repair patches as a last resort but have never had to use them. Punctured tubes get hung on the garage door and get repaired en masse when I have accumulated enough.

as far as i know that is infact true, if the tyre has had sealant in it they cant do an on the spot repair.

You might think it true, but I see them repaired often and without problems. There is a lot of myth about sealant on the web.
