hi all, just put some tyre sealent in my road bike tubes, brand new continental race tubes, first off, is it any good? will i have any issues?

and second off i notice when i rotate the wheels when the bike is upturned they seem rather bumpy ...best way i can explain it, will this go away? or will i simply not notice this on a ride?, the bottle said put in around 130 to 200 mil per cycle tyre so i just put approx half a bottle in each probably abit less, but that still seemed like loads, hopefully i havent just ruined my tubes as they are the only two i have at the mo and just got them yesterday

Road bike pressures + sealant in inner tubes = not recommended by most.
Better to spend the money on good quality tyres that puncture less frequently.

cant remember the brand but it was nothing expensive, the tyres are schwable lugano active guard, the bike is a specialized allez sport

i know it works on cars for sure (the aerosol specifically for cars) but its not supposed to be a permanent repair although ive heard of it lasting years, although im sure you can go to a garage and get a puncture repaired for a tenner

I wouldn't do it on a high pressure road tire. Bloody life saver on a proper off road knobbly, though. Just changed to hybrids for the winter, took the old MTB tubes out and absolutely full of holes sealed by the green gunk. One tube used for 800 miles of offroad, spiky trails. Wonderful stuff.

By the way, if you use tyre sealant on your car tyre to repair a puncture, when you take it in to the tyre shop for a proper repair, they won't do it. They have to throw the tyre away and sell you a new one, when it could have been repaired for a small sum if only you hadn't put the sealant in. They can't plug the hole once the inside of the tyre is full of gunk. No relevance to cycling, but some cyclists also drive cars, so I thought this tip might be useful.

had this in for a good few miles now on both tyre's specialized allez 23c axis rims conti race tubes and schwable lugano's im 230lbs and have had them at 120 psi going on long downhill stretches over 30mph so thats alot of strain on them and they have been great! but only time will tell

Slightly OT but I've got a very slow puncture in one of my car tyres, does anyone know if the sealant works?
I had a very slowly deflating tyre on my Focus and I had an old tin of emergency sealant that was about 2 years out of date. The tyre only had about 3mm of tread left so it was not worth repairing so I used the old tin. Worked a treat right until the tyre needed replacing.
I carry cheapo bike versions with me as my Trice is a real pig to get the front tyres off and having 3 wheels gives me a greater chance of deflations - it is only meant to be a temporary get you home repair, but both front tyres have had this treatment in the last month and tyres have stayed inflated up to today when I got round to repairing them properly.

I used this stuff once. Found it messed up the Presta valves and wasn't really worth it. My advice is to check your tyres regularly (some people do this after every ride) removing flints, glass etc. and just make sure you carry the necessary to change a tube out on the road if you need to.
